
So I just came up with these! They were inspired by these amazing coast guard buttons my friend Dave gave me, The pattern is wicked simple so I thought I would share.
1 skein Lambs pride worsted in Deep charcoal
2 circular needles size 8
1 stitch marker
1 stitch holder
C/0 36 stitches on one circular needle
"Round 1 K4, k2 p2 till last four stitches K to end
Round 2 P4 k2 p2 till last four stitches p to end
Repeat these two rows
then first button hole row K1 bind off two k1, k2 p2 to last 4 k
P1 c/o and knit 2, K1, k2 p2 to last 4 P"
repeat rows in parenthesis twice more
join for working in round
work 2 inches in k2 p2 ribbing
place 6 stitches on holder for thumb
join work five rows in pattern
bind off
work 5 rows thumb gusset
b/o
sew on bad ass buttons, viola! steampunky goodness!
